The 'Outdoor' advertising market defines the size of advertising hoardings by reference to the number of 'Sheets' used to form the final visual display are of the advertisement. This term originates from the historical Crown printing press which has now been superseded by modern technology. For example, a 48 sheet did originally comprise of forty eight individual pieces but now is made up of only twelve.

Adverising hoarding installation options
Apart from the size and the type of the panel their installation may also vary reflecting the location and character of the property on which it is to be located. The options are normally wall mounting, land sites using a supporting structure of simple RSJ's, monopoles or 'design' structures. The latter two providing the possibility of back-to-back panels with a minimum footprint and land utilisation but with the maximum cost.
